The Pre-school is designed for children in the last year before starting school.  The Wise Owls have designed a polo shirt uniform which is available for purchase.

The Pre-School room is divided into areas to allow the children to learn through play, alone or in small and large groups. Little Owls will provide equipment, toys and natural materials so that the children can explore and learn about the world around them.

The team in the Pre-School room follow the "Early Years Foundation Stages":-

• Personal, social and emotional development.     
• Communication, language and literacy.
• Mathematical development.
• Knowledge and understanding of the world.
• Creative development.
• Physical development

Activities are designed around these principles and are tailored to meet each child's individual needs, encouraging them to progress.

Each child will be assigned a trained key worker, who will observe and support them and share all their findings with parents or carers throughout the year, along with termly progress reports and Parent's Evenings.

The Pre-School team liaise closely with surrounding schools to ensure that the transition between Little Owls and school goes smoothly.

The children will be provided with three healthy meals a day; brunch at 10:15, delicious lunch and pudding (12:30) and a varied tea time selection at 16:15.  See our winter menu for further details.

Your children will also get the opportunity to experience our Nature Watch and many other exciting activities running throughout the week.  We have a library van that visits regularly and all children are encouraged to take a book home to read.

Little Owls is a provider registered with OFSTED and also registered for Nursery Education Funding.
